Facebook videos now play in Savio

Save a public Facebook video, Reel, photo or album and it plays right inside Savio, just like Instagram. This update also stops Savio from signing you out after an update.

A new way to open your saves

Tapping a save now opens it as a card right over where you were, with your other saves in a strip below. Recently Saved Recap gets the same card, and a little celebration when you're all caught up.

  • NewTap any save to open it as a card. Swipe sideways or slide along the thumbnail strip to move between saves, pull the card up to read everything, and tap the photo or video to go full screen.
  • NewRecently Saved Recap now uses the same card: it shows how many saves are left, ticks each one off as you move past it, and celebrates when you're all caught up.

Saved reels, carousels and YouTube videos now play right inside Savio, and sharing a link to a collection is quicker and more dependable.

A dedicated home for Instagram, and calmer loading

Instagram's connect/disconnect settings moved into their own screen with a single switch, and loading placeholders across the app got calmer and more consistent.

Connect Instagram with a DM, not a sign-in

Connecting Instagram no longer sends you through a sign-in redirect — Savio gives you a short code, you DM it over, and you're connected. Saving also got a little more satisfying, with a proper confirmation sound and a redesigned toast.

Saves that outlive the post

When something you saved gets taken down at the source, Savio now tells you — and keeps the picture it stored for you. More previews are kept permanently, and Savio stops claiming a post is fine when it couldn't actually check.

  • NewA save whose post has been taken down at the source now says so, on the tile and when you open it — and the picture Savio stored for you stays.
  • ImprovedMore previews are kept for good: pictures from more sites are copied to Savio when you save, so they survive the original disappearing.
  • FixedSavio no longer claims a post is fine when it couldn't actually check. Instagram and Reddit hide that from us, so it now says nothing rather than guessing.

Shorts look right, and less waiting on blank screens

YouTube Shorts were showing as wide boxes with the video squeezed into the middle — they now fill a tall tile like reels do. Collections also stop telling you they're empty while they're still loading.

  • ImprovedYouTube Shorts now fill a tall tile, three to a row, instead of a wide box with the video pinched in the middle. Shorts you saved earlier are tidied up the next time you open Savio.
  • FixedYour collections no longer flash "No collections yet" before they appear, and opening a collection no longer says it's empty for a moment before the items load.
  • FixedSharing to Savio while signed out now offers an Open Savio button that takes you to sign in, and the link you shared is saved once you're in.

Saved channels stay put, and previews explain themselves

Some saved YouTube channels were being labelled as taken down when they were perfectly fine — that's fixed. And where a preview image had quietly stopped loading, you'd get a blank grey box; now Savio tells you what actually happened.

  • FixedSaved YouTube channels are no longer wrongly marked “No longer available”. That check now reads YouTube's own status for a video instead of guessing from the page, so a genuinely deleted video is still caught — and a healthy one is left alone.
  • ImprovedA brand-new save now shows a loading placeholder while its title and preview are fetched. It used to sit there saying the link might be private or blocked — for the 10–15 seconds before its preview had actually arrived.
  • ImprovedWhen a save's preview image has stopped loading, the card now says so instead of leaving an empty space. Your recap used to show a blank grey rectangle in that case; it shows the real “no preview” state now.
  • FixedSigning out or switching accounts while Savio was still filling in titles and previews in the background no longer causes an error.

Instant saves from the share sheet

Sharing to Savio from another app now saves right away, without opening the app first. Also fixes two link mix-ups: some sites being mistaken for X posts, and Instagram posts saving twice.

Fixed the intermittent sign-outs some of you were seeing, especially right after opening the app or sharing something in from another app. The login and signup screen also got a visual refresh with a new animated intro.

Tags that are properly yours, and a tidier save

Your tags are now private to your account, with rename and delete finally doing exactly what they say. Saving from the share sheet looks the way it was designed — celebration included — and Home has lost a strip that was quietly doing work in the background on every save.

  • ImprovedYour tags now belong to your account alone. Renaming a tag to one you already have merges the two, and deleting a tag really removes it instead of just unlinking your items.
  • FixedThe little celebration now actually appears when you save from the iOS share sheet. It was firing off the edge of the screen, so it was never on camera.
  • ImprovedThe share sheet's toggle and checkbox now match the rest of the app, and a leftover panel promoting a feature that no longer exists is gone.
  • ImprovedThe Suggested collections strip has been removed from Home. It couldn't be turned off, and it was running clustering work in the background every time you saved something — saves are lighter without it.
  • ImprovedConfirmation messages are now a light card that belongs to the app, rather than a generic dark banner.

Your saves get all their tags back

Auto-tagging had been quietly dropping most of the tags it worked out, so saves ended up with one or two instead of three — or none at all. That's fixed, and everything affected is being re-tagged for you. The item screen also got a careful visual pass.

  • FixedAuto-tagging now keeps every tag it finds. A save could only ever be given tags nobody had used before, so the more your library grew, the fewer tags each new save kept.
  • FixedSaves that were marked as tagged but ended up with no tags at all are being tagged again automatically — no need to do anything.
  • ImprovedThe item screen matches its design properly: the preview card now sizes itself to your photo instead of stretching to fill the width, and its shadow, spacing and the Other Info sheet have all been tidied up.

Search gets its own screen, and menus open where you tap

A big pass over the parts of Savio you touch most often. Search is now a proper screen you can reach from anywhere, every menu opens next to the button that opened it instead of sliding up from the bottom, and the lists behind "By Platforms" and "By Utilities" finally look and behave like each other. There is also a round of fixes to sharing, the recap, and your tags.

  • NewSearch is its own screen now, with your recent searches and a field that sits where your thumb is. Searching inside one collection or one platform hands off to the same place, so there is one search instead of three.
  • NewMenus open next to the control you tapped. A ⋯ in the top-right opens in the top-right, flips above the button when there is no room below, and grows out of the control the way iOS menus do — instead of every menu sliding up from the bottom of the screen.
  • NewThe "By Utilities" lists — Recently saved, Recently viewed, Recently deleted and the rest — now have the same header, item count, select mode and sort/search controls as the platform lists. Recently deleted can restore or permanently delete a whole selection at once.
  • NewYou can sort any list by platform, grouping everything from the same app together.
  • ImprovedSharing to Savio is tidier: the confirmation shows a tick and the right wording, the reminder switch and collection checkboxes are legible again, and each collection shows its own icon while you pick.
  • FixedYour tags list now shows only your own tags, and renaming or removing one actually sticks — previously a rename would quietly revert.

Savio for VoiceOver, Reduce Motion and larger text

Savio now works properly with the accessibility settings you already rely on: every control announces what it is, animations step aside when you ask them to, and the whole app holds together at the largest text size. This release also carries the shared-collections work from the last few builds, and a round of fixes for the collections you share with other people.

  • NewVoiceOver now names everything you can tap — tabs, menus, filters, sheets, and each saved card, which reads out its title and where it came from.
  • NewReduce Motion is honoured across the app. Menus and sheets settle in place instead of sliding, switching tabs no longer swipes the screen across, and nothing loops.
  • NewLarger text is supported all the way to the biggest accessibility size, without buttons losing their words or labels running off the edge.
  • ImprovedShared collections: an invite link is now something you create and can reset if it leaks, and converting a collection brings its items with it.
  • FixedSearch keeps the keyboard up while you type, and the field is ready the moment it opens.
  • FixedRenaming a collection or changing its emoji shows straight away instead of waiting on the network.
  • NewYou can now sort oldest-first. Collections and search gain a “Sort by Oldest” option, and your Library gets a sort of its own — tap the filter button to pick between Recently Saved, Recently Viewed and Oldest.
  • Fixed“Shared to you” could come up empty even when a collection had been shared with you. A background refresh was quietly clearing the local copy of those items; it now leaves them alone unless the change is real.
  • FixedItems in a shared collection had no “More info”. Long-press one and you can now see its title, creator, where it came from, and who added it.
  • ImprovedThe “What do i use Savio for?” card on Home has more to say — tap the arrows to page through it.

Search, rebuilt — and a new look nearly everywhere

Search is now its own screen, with suggestions as you type and the sorting, filtering and multi-select you'd expect. Every saved item gets an Info screen showing where it lives and when you've come back to it. And the share sheet, profile, settings and notifications have all been redesigned.

  • NewSearch is its own screen now — suggestions appear as you type, and you can sort, filter and select several results at once without leaving them.
  • NewEvery saved item has an Info screen: where it came from, which collections it's in — including shared ones, and who added it — and every time you've come back to it.

Reset your password, plus a big reliability pass

Reset a forgotten password right in the app — plus a wide reliability sweep: counts always match what's inside, shared collections behave the way you'd expect (including from the share menu), a new way to refresh a stale link, and better-protected data.

  • NewForgot your password? You can now reset it in the app — we email you a 6-digit code, you set a new password, and you're back in.
  • NewRefresh preview: long-press any saved item and tap 'Refresh preview' to re-fetch its title and image if it didn't load the first time.

Shared collections now stay up to date on their own, and you can manage any collection straight from Home with a swipe. This build also brings a smoother, more consistent feel — a Home that tucks its top bar away as you scroll, a refreshed glass look across menus and sheets, and a tidy 'all caught up' screen when there's nothing new to watch.

  • NewShared collections update live. When a collaborator adds or removes a save, it appears (or disappears) on your screen automatically — no pull-to-refresh needed.

No more notification spam, smarter search

We fixed the biggest cause of repeat notifications and capped reminders and daily summaries so they can't pile up. Search is also more forgiving — even short two-letter queries now find the right saves.

  • FixedReminder nudges and daily digests are now limited to once a day, so they can't stack up and over-notify you.
